Project Description

The Dignified Menstruation Project, an initiative of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu with technical support from Connection Nepal, continues to make significant progress in promoting menstrual health and hygiene among students in public schools of Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, Kathmandu.

To date, the project has successfully reached more than 1,200 students through Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM) orientation sessions conducted across nine public schools. The project aims to benefit over 2,000 students through awareness and education programs.

Participating schools include Kanti Bhairav Secondary School, Ananda Bhairav Secondary School, Nepal Rastriya Nirman Secondary School, Shree Bal Bikash Secondary School, Gandhi Adarsha Secondary School, Tej Binayak Secondary School, Bal Uddar Secondary School, and other partner schools within the municipality.

As a key component of the project, a Two-Day Reusable Sanitary Pad Making Training was successfully conducted on 6–7 June 2026 at Kanti Bhairav Secondary School. In the first phase, representatives from five schools participated, including 20 students and 5 teachers, who received hands-on training on sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions.

The training program concluded successfully in the presence of Vice President Rtn. Prajun Khadka, PP Rtn. Tirtha Raj Dahal, and IPP Rtn. Sushil Kumar Karki, marking another important milestone in advancing menstrual health awareness, dignity, and sustainable hygiene practices among young people.

Together, we are fostering healthier, more informed, and empowered communities through education and action.
